PlaySelf-contained biomass-fired hot-air generator

Discover the self-contained biomass hot-air generator by Säätötuli. In its 30ft long module, it features a solid-fuel silo and the biomass-fired hot-air furnace. It is able to produce up to 16,500 cfm of heated air with a deltaT of 85°C.

It can be used on drying kilns, grain dryers, space heating and any other application that needs huge quantities of hot air.

It can use woodchips, pellets or any other biomass solid fuel.

bio-mass burning basically is the destruction

Will it burn sawdust?

What’s a unit like this cost ??

Lonny Riehl This kind of unit costs usually somewhere between CAD 300k and 350k depending on the options. We currently have a few refurbished units at lower prices available. Depending on your region, they may also be eligible for renewable energy subsidies.

Wayne Nicol These units can accept sawdust as a mixed fuel with woodchips (up to about 30% sawdust). If you want to use only sawdust, the best would be to press the sawdust into briquettes or pellets as those can be used directly in the unit.

How many btu is it ?? Can it be used to dry biomass for using in pellet mill ??

Lonny Riehl The unit is 1.7 million BTU/hr (500kW). You can use the hot air to feed a biomass dryer. You can see an example of one such unit feeding a continuous flow biomass dryer here: www.saatotuli.ca/other-equipment/continuous-flow-biomass-dryer/

15 years ago: birth of the current Säätötuli containerised biomass heating plantA little bit of history… In 2007, Säätötuli has been successfully manufacturing containerised biomass heating plants already for 4 years with around 50 units manufactured so far. The use of maritime containers was eliminated early in this venture as their size restrictions made the maintenance of the heating systems difficult. With all that experience, it was time to redesign the containerised heating plant with updated features. The modern BioCont Junior was born.Discover the whole story on our website: https://www.saatotuli.ca/2022/12/05/15-years-ago-birth-of-the-current-saatotuli-containerised-biomass-heating-plant/

Did you know? In some cases, a partial biomass conversion can be a better deal than a total conversion. For example, in kiln dryers the drying cycle requires full output from the boiler only during the pre-heating phase. The rest of the time, the boiler will work at partial output. In the case study of a black spruce drying kiln, converting only a third of the output from fossil fuel to biomass would result in biomass providing 80% of the total heat energy need of the dryer for less than half of the investment for a total conversion. To learn more, read the new Wiki on our website:https://www.saatotuli.ca/2022/10/12/kiln-dryers-using-biomass-as-a-heat-source/

PlayBiomass-fired maple syrup evaporator

NEW EVOLUTION FOR MAPLE SYROP PRODUCERS! Innovations Biomasse and Säätötuli Canada are happy to announce that the prototype for a biomass-fired professional maple syrup evaporator has passed all the tests successfully.

The system uses a Säätötuli burner that can use woodchips as well as woodpellets. Producers can now stop purchasing highly priced oil or propane and use instead the woody residues generated by forestry operations.

For more information, contact Innovations Biomasse at 418-894-5481 or come visit us on booth E19 at ExpoChamps in Saint-Liboire, QC on August 30th to September#sugarshack
